Gender of Pronouns

Gender of Pronouns: There are 3 different genders for pronouns: masculine, feminine, neuter.

 

He: masculine pronoun

Usually refers to male people

 

She: feminine pronoun

Usually refers to female people.

 

It: neuter pronoun

Usually refers to things

 

Further look at Masculine Pronouns:

Masculine nouns: each of these masculine nouns are written with a “he.”

Mr. David

Feminine nouns: replace each of these feminine nouns with the pronoun: “she.”

Mrs. David

Woman

Mother

Girl

Actress

 

Neuter Nouns: replace each of these neuter nouns with the pronoun: it

House

Ball

Car

Lotion

Book

 

Remember gender does not change the pronouns we, you, and they. These particular pronouns replace plural nouns. Plural pronouns do not change gender.
